What is a Nomination?
.
As a member of Naomh Breandan Credit Union, you have the ability to nominate someone to receive the funds in your account (up to €27,000*) in the event of your passing. This ensures an efficient transfer of funds to your chosen nominee, bypassing the often lengthy probate process.
.
Please note that to submit or update a nomination, you will need to visit the office and our staff will be happy to assist you.
Benefits:
- Your nominated funds are released without delays.
- Not part of your estate, the funds do not go through probate or your Will.
- Flexibility allows you to change your nomination at any time to reflect life events such as marriage, divorce, or the passing of a nominee.
How to Set Up or Update Your Nomination:
- You can nominate anyone such as family, friends, a partner or a group of people.
- You must be over 16 years of age to make a Nomination.
- If you joined as a child, you would not have completed a Nomination Form. Once you reach the age of 16, you should fill out a Nomination Form.
- A Nomination must be signed and witnessed by two individuals.
- You can update or change your Nomination as often as needed.
- If your nominee passes away before you, your Nomination is automatically revoked, and you should consider updating it.
- A Nomination is also automatically revoked if you get married.
