The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were established in 2015 by the international community as part of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through which countries of the world collectively pledged to eradicate poverty, find sustainable and inclusive development solutions, ensure everyone's human rights, and generally make sure that no one is left behind by 2030.

The Credit Union sector was nominated as one of a number of SDG Champions. As part of the credit union sector, Naomh Breandáin Credit Union is committed to delivering on its environmental, social and governance, or 'ESG' goals, which form an integral part of the SDG agenda.

Naomh Breandain Credit Union in collaboration with the TY students at St Brigid's College invite you to take part in a Treasure Hunt and learn all about the SDG goals. This is only one initiative organised to create awareness among the people in our community. The recent parade displayed a connection between several community groups showcasing the goals. The 17 Goals are scattered throughout the community in relevant places including the lake, County Council, Family Resource Centre, Loughrea mart and so on. Soon they will be displayed on the main street of the town.
