WELL DONE TO ALL THE 208 CHILDREN FOR TAKING PART IN THIS YEARS CREDIT UNION SCHOOL’S QUIZ.

Last Saturday saw 208 children from the local primary schools participating in the credit union schools quiz. The largest number of teams to date with a total of 52. Earlier that day extra tables were drafted in from St Ita’s NS to cater for the large crowds and the hall was prepared and set up by the Youth Advisory Council and the caretaker Bernard Porter.

Children came from the surrounding schools including Kilnadeema, Kilchreest, St Ita’s, St Brendans Boys NS, Bullaun, Woodford, Carrabane, Mullagh, Leitrim, Duniry, Drim, the Gaelscoil and Kilrickle.

At 7pm Martin Smyth - the Quizmaster started Round 1 of the questions to a very extited group of young children. Followed in second place was Carrabane NS with Niamh Tuohy, Ben Keane, Tony Tuohy and Ciaran Connaughton. After a Tie Breaker for third place St Brendan’s Boy’s NS won third place. This team was made up of Conor Niland, Eric Downey, Pierce Mannion and Michael Mc Curtin.
