The format of the annual CU Poster Competition changed slightly for the first time this year. It was changed to an Art Competition as it was felt it would appeal to a greater audience.
This years theme was Ireland through my eyes
The competition was open to age categories :
- 7 years and under
- 8 - 10 years
- 11 - 13 years
- 14 - 17 years
- 18 years and over
Once again Naomh Breandain Credit Union received a very large number of posters. The younger age groups of up to 10 years old topped the pole with the number of entries received. It was a huge challenge sorting through each piece of art and judging the different categories. And well done to the judges for their work.
But a SPECIAL THANKS goes to each child regardless of age who participated in this years competition. Im sure you all got lots of fun working with the theme Ireland through my eyes and then setting about doing your posters. We would love to give a prize to all the participants but this was not possible as we are talking about close to 600 posters.
Also a word of thanks to the parents and teachers who encouraged the children to participate in ths competition. Many thanks for this.
The winning posters will be on display in the CU for another week or so. Then we hope to choose at random abother 15 and display them for another week. So watch out for yours on your next visit to the CU.
